Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Provides patient visit support to Ophthalmology Program. Works with clinical and research staff/clinicians to organize patient visits and clinical flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares clinical rooms, orders and stocks supplies and medications, and coordinates with other departments for supply delivery and pickup; assists with procedures as needed.
  • Ensures efficient patient flow and accurate preparation and communication of clinical documents for specified areas.
  • Supports regulatory compliance efforts, including Joint Commission requirements.
  • Obtains quotes for equipment purchases, coordinates repairs, and manages related logistics.
  • Performs diagnostic imaging including external, slit lamp, and fundus photography; edits and uploads images; conducts visual field testing and intraocular pressure measurement; administers eye drops.
  • Manages electronic patient records, assists with scheduling and phone support, and helps with contact lens sessions, cleaning, and inventory.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED required

Experience:

  • Experience in a clinical or science-related field is preferred

Licensure/ Certifications:

  • Current registration as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA certification) preferred

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
